GETTING
STARTED
In its first year Worstead Events secured nearly £15,000
in grant aid from the Worstead Festival, Defra, Leader+ and
The National Lottery.
We have spent the cash (not all of it
!) on advertising
events in Worstead, supporting promoters that have made a
loss, and buying a large stage for everyone to use.
Its been a busy yearsome events have succeeded,
others not done so well but it has all started to put Worstead
on the map as the place to go to for some excellent shows.
It has also raised some much needed extra funds for the Church,
QE Hall and the New Inn.
and hopefully its all been a lot of fun doing it!.
For 2005 we have cash available to help the events that did
well last year to grow, and to encourage new ideasso
please bring us the new ideas!

.
An example
In past years the New Inn had put on an annual fireworks
display, but they felt this was becoming difficult with
new safety legislation and the event needed to be on
a completely different scale to cover the increased
costs. They asked Worstead Events, we approached several
groups and the Parish Council agreed to take on the
overall organisation.
Over 1200 people attended and a great night was had
by all. But, most importantly, the event involved the
Parish Council, QE Hall, Football Club, New Inn, Worstead
Farms and many, individuals working together. It just
goes to show what can be achieved if everyone is working
together! |
For Hire:
Worstead Events has some equipment which is available for
