PERMISSION:

Ref. 20051864: Erection first floor rear extension, Woodside Cottage, Broad Rd

Leisure and Recreation:

KICKING WALL:

The kicking wall is up and well received by the young people. It may seem better to cover the back of the wall as well (approx. costs £100.00). To be discussed at the next meeting.

MUSEUM OF THE BROAD: Garden & Leisure Show 2007. Cllr Rose informed the Council that Worstead Events had been approached by them to cover a loss of approx £2,000.00. Nothing seems to be finalised yet and it was agreed to write and ask for a Business and Financial plan, how will they limit  liability, inconvenience to the village and inform them to write to Worstead Farms Ltd for the usage of the fields.

Highways:

GREEN AT THE SCHOOL:

It was established that selling of land to the LEA is not an option, but they are looking in to leasing the land of Worstead Farms Ltd.

The issue of improving the area near the pond (Norfolk County Council claims ownership of the pond) was discussed and it was resolved to ask Worstead School for quotes to make the area suitable for parking for Staff and make a grant available when the quotes are received.

FOOTPATH NORTHVIEW:

It was agreed to have the survey carried out Friday 21 April 2006. Clerk to inform Planning & Transportation,  the School and Mrs. Smith.

Notification of Property Addresses:

Plot 2 adjacent Laburnum Cottage will be: Meadowsweet Cottage.

Queen Elizabeth Hall:

Quote for further redecoration: this quote is a continuation of work carried out in 2005, when 3 quotes were received. The quote was submitted by Mr. Yaxley, who had satisfactorily carried out the first stage of that job. It was agreed to accept the quote of £2,241.00 (balance of 2 years of grants £2,235.00) although the Chairman believed, that the work could be carried out by volunteers, thus making it cheaper.

Cllr. Rose asked to see a quarterly financial report, because it was agreed at the time that the grants would only be given when the finances were very low (public money)

WORSTEAD WOVEN:

The Clerk asked permission to approach Norfolk County Council’s Tourist Information, Wroxham Barns and some more outlets to find out whether they are willing to sell “Worstead Woven” at £5.00 a piece, offering them a 25% discount. At present, the Clerk does not know how many books there still are.

It was resolved to accept the idea of contacting other outlets.

IDA WATTS AWARD:

Parchment paper cost £5.15 for 50 sheets, Cllr. Henderson had been unable to sort out a plaque, but once the prices are agreed upon, the Clerk will approach a nephew of the late Ms. Watts for a contribution. The nephew had promised this when he spoke to the Headmaster of Worstead School.

SURVEYORS ALLOTMENT:

The Clerk would like to ask Mr. Care of Hansells where we are with this, the last communication between him and WPC was in July last year. As we are approaching a new accounts year, it was resolved to follow it up.

DOG MESS:

Unfortunately on the increase again. Cllr. Henderson had found out during the Area Parish Forum Meeting that the Environmental Health Dept. of North Norfolk District Council is very willing to help with CCTV which can take snap shots and sent them directly by email. It was agreed to invite them to our next meeting.

A summary of the Area Parish Forum Meeting was handed out and will be send with these minutes to absent members.

FIREWORKS:

This was a great success. Cllr. Rose told the Cllrs. Present that Mr. T. Swann had told him that the grass where the bonfire was, was in a bad condition Could he go ahead and buy grass seeds. This was agreed. Cllr. Rose to inform Mr. Swann.

CHRISTMAS MARKET:

Praise was given for this event. £45.00 had been received by the Clerk (£25.00 from the owner of the roundabout and £20.00 from a Stallholder (known), reducing the loss to £47.40. The Councillors present agreed to adopt next year’s Christmas Market as a Parish Event.

A contingency plan for wet weather should be looked into, but moving it indoors would not have the same “Christmas” feel about it.
