MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF WORSTEAD PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON
TUESDAY 26th JUNE 2001

Prior to the meeting members of the public asked about the conservation status for Meeting Hill. They were told that this was going out to public consultation probably in August.
It was also reported that during the recent bad weather there had been a problem with flooding and mud etc. being carried onto the road from near the pig farm towards the village centre. They stated that it was cleared very quickly but were worried that this could become a danger in periods of prolonged bad weather.

01/23 MATTERS
ARISING
Bus
Shelters
It was noted that the bus shelter at Fourcrossways had been removed. Mrs Fairhurst
commented on the proposal to repair the old shelter in the village centre instead of
removing it as originally planned that although she was in total agreement with this
the matter should be kept under review in case the previous abuse of this facility
should happen again in the future. The plans for the new bus shelter should be chased. clerk
Car
Boot Sales
A letter had been received from the District Council stating that planning
permission was needed for car boot sales held outside of the hall but sales
inside the hall were covered.
The clerk was asked to follow up the emptying of the bins. Clerk

Vice Chairman L Gray was proposed by K Wilkins & seconded ny V Fairhurst
All agreed.
Playing fields sub committee
R Charman, K Uglow & C Rance were proposed by V Fairhurst & seconded by
L Gray All agreed.
Queen Elizabeth Hall
J Parker & W Nash were proposed by G Paterson & seconded by R Charman
All agreed
C Rance remains as School Governor
01/25 FINANCE MATTERS
The finance report was studied and accepted..
Bills for Payment.
Norfolk Playing Fields Association subscription £15
Norfolk Link subscription £3
D Jordan £20 fence
All these bills were proposed for payment by C Rance. This was seconded by
W Nash. The bills will be paid when the cheque book is returned from the auditors.
The clerk was given the approval to order 2 memorial plaques. These will be paid
for from petty cash.
01/26 PLANNING MATTERS
Mrs Wilkins declared an interest and abstained from all voting.
Notice of decision
Rose Cottage Honing Row permit
New Proposals
Removal of agricultural
occupancy restriction (condition number 3 of planning permission reference number
SM4294) at Meadow Way Sandy Hills.
It was proposed by G Paterson & seconded by V Fairhurst that the Council should
Support this application and that a note should be added stating that the council feels very strongly that these conditions are outdated especially considering the contraction of the
agricultural & countryside industries. All agreed.
L Gray proposed that the Council support the application seconded by C Rance
All Agreed.
Yarmouth Road, Worstead. W Nash proposed that the Council support the application
this was seconded by J Parker. All agreed.
Licence Renewal by Queen Elizabeth Hall voted no observations please continue.
The small gate also needs replacing now. It was suggested that thisa be removed so
that it can be used as a pattern for the new gates.
01/28 YOUTH CLUB
A new person is moving into the village shortly who is willing to help with this
project.The meeting will be arranged once they are available.
01/29 TRANSPORT
& TRAFFIC
Notes of the meeting held !2th June were presented to the meeting. A copy will be
sent to Mrs Cullingham & Mr Reilly. Some additions tro the list were suggested.
These were:-Briggate Bridge needs signs signs giving priority to traffic travelling
towards Honing. They would also like a 20 mph speed limit through the hamlet.
01/30 CORRESPONDENCE
A letter had been received from North Norfolk District Council about the
Area Meeting at Hoveton. No one was available to attend.
Norfolk County Council are introducing a new way of informing Councils
of works they are undertaking. Where possible they will e-mail clerks.

01/31 ANY OTHER
BUSINESS
A letter had been sent to Railtrack asking for permission for people to be able
to cross the line at the station to tend flower baskets on the other platform.
No response as yet.
The Churchyard wall and grass need cleaning and cutting. K Uglow will talk to
Mr Swann about this and also about keeping the grass in front of the school cut. KU Notice boards at Withergate, Village Centre & Briggate need repairs. The RC
position of the village notice board will be reviewed once the new bus shelter’
is in place.
Ruin Road has been repaired but needs more work. K Uglow will arrange
for quotes. KU
