ALSO PRESENT
I Dinmore (Bittern Line), 1 member of the press & 16 members of the public
Mr Dinmore brought copies of the new timetable to the meeting and apologised that they had not been delivered sooner. This was due to a poor service from their contractor who they had now stopped using. Mr Dinmore went on to talk about how the Bittern Line was funded and requested that we consider becoming a member of the partnership. He produced a copy of their action plan and went through the improvements that were planned and the type of service they would like to offer if funding was available e,g, a half hourly service from North Walsham to Norwich. The public were then allowed to pose questions to Mr Dinmore. Asked why not every train stopped at Worstead and the other smaller stations he said it was due both to the cost and the scheduling problems this would cause in getting trains into Norwich in time to meet connections. The way forward would seem to be with all forms of public transport working together in an integrated manner. Suggestions were also put forward that the bus station should be moved so that it is close to the train station with a feeder service to the City centre and that a late night train would be of benefit to local people wanting to spend an evening in the City and City dwellers wanting to spend an evening at the coast.
