Cllr. Lowe had been unable to obtain quotes, he will do so for March’s meeting.

Leisure and Recreation:

RESPONSE FROM WORSTEAD FESTIVAL COMMT. AND CONSIDER HOW TO MOVE FORWARD:

There has been no response from the Worstead Festival Committee, despite the answers to last month’s questions being in time for their meeting. The Committee is looking into issues in relation to the Charity Commission.

 

VILLAGE SIGN:

Worstead Amenities Society have kindly agreed to select the 10 most suitable pictures, from which the public can choose the final one  on Saturday 7 March 11.00 – 13.00 in the Club Room. All other drawings will be displayed as well. Posters, advertising the event will be put in the various notice boards.

 

Highways:

TO CONSIDER RESPONSE RE. LORRIES THROUGH MEETING HILL:

Letters were sent to Parkers Skips (Rackheath) and CBC (Spa Common). CBC responded by telling the Clerk they would ask Parkers not to go through the hamlet, stating that was all he could do.

It was agreed to support the efforts of Meeting Hill’s residents to reduce traffic and speed through the hamlet. (See Public Participation).

REPORT MEETING WITH “HANDYPERSON”, TO CONSIDER AND RESOLVE JOBS AND EXPENDITURE, IF ANY, UNPAID VOLUNTARY UNIT:

See public participation.

Mr. Chapman and Mr. Clare will try and find jobs for the Unpaid Voluntary Unit. It was suggested that the “old” shelter could be erected in the graveyard on Withergate Road by the Unit. With greenery growing around and over it, it may blend it. Clerk to approach Parochial Church Council. Cllr. West promised to work with the Voluntary Unit, the shelter needs to be located.

 

BRIGGATE MILL: TO  CONSIDER AND RESOLVE PROGRESS AND EXPENDITURE, IF ANY:

See public participation.

It was resolved that the Clerk will contact Open Spaces to get  information how to move forward. Mrs. Howes will be put forward as the contact person.

 

SALT DUMP: TO CONSIDER COMPANIES/NAMES TO RENT SALT DUMP:

Cllr. West will approach C. Bird whether he is interested to use the site for storage. If this fails, either Norfolk County Council or May Gurney will be contacted, to put the suggestion for storage to either of them.

 

 

 

 

FOOTPATH NO1: TO CONSIDER IMPROVEMENTS TO AVOID ACCIDENTS WHEN VERY WET:

Ms. Sarah Price, Countryside Manager, will come and have a look at the path and will report back. A horse rider is using the path, no horse riding signs should be displayed (NCC or WPC?)

 

PARISH PLAN:  TO CONSIDER THE WAY FORWARD

The Clerk had sent 2 emails to Mr. Ashcroft, but has had no response. Cllr. Barrett will go and see Mr. Ashcroft.

 

WALL AT NEW INN: PROGRESS REPORT:

P. Godwin, Conservation officer at NNDC, did sent a letter to Punch Tavern, dated 23.02.09. Improvements have been made on the wall, the fencing removed. The contractor has used bricks, which do not blend in at all. Photos will be sent to P. Godwin for him to see for himself.

 

TO CONSIDER GOING FOR QUALITY COUNCIL:

The Chairman would like to do this before the next election, quite a few boxes can already be ticked. The Clerk will get booklets for all Councillors, so they can read up on the information. A get together will be organised before the monthly meeting.

 

TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF TELEPHONE BOXES AT BRIGGATE AND STATION ROAD:

Website:

Mr. T. Rose is unable to continue updating the site and some improvements are asked for. The Clerk will look at other websites and offered to do a course at Adult Education for £88.00.

 

Footpath through field at Lyngate:

The field has been ploughed over, but the footpath has not been re-instated. S. Price, NCC has been informed.

 

Dog fouling on road from Lyngate to Bengate:

Complaints about this issue were received. Considering installing a dog bin will be put on next month’s agenda.
