PLANNING:
Ref. 20061443: Erection of extension to provide annex above garage: Our Pad, Lyngate: after a long discussion it was agreed that objections should be raised for the following reasons: overdevelopment of the current size of the existing dwelling and it will have a big impact on the surrounding area. Cllr. Parker abstained.
Development plans on behalf of G. Paterson esq., Paterson Family, Worstead Farms Ltd and The Hall Farm Trust: these were designed when the plans for the affordable housing and the Parish Plan were set up to find out what is needed and wanted in the village. Cllr. Tilley felt it was positive to look at renewed use of unused buildings, which could only enhance the village. He worried about the influx of traffic if workshops were created in the middle of the village. The meeting decided to discuss each development site individually as per technical note 1: Development 1: Affordable housing to be situated at the end of Woodview with access by Woodview. It was agreed that the affordable residential dwellings should be situated closer to the school, between Honing Row and School Road seemed the best location, closer to the school was deemed to be dangerous because of the blind bend at Holly Grove.
Development 2: Conversion of farm building to 3 residential dwellings in the centre of the village, accessed via Front Street: confusion had arisen because the drawings indicated 4 dwellings. The overall feeling was that the barn bordering Woodview was worthy of retention and could be converted into two dwellings and that another dwelling could be situated opposite the barn, but placed centrally to avoid more dwellings built on the site.
Development 3: Conversion of farm building to 7-13 residential dwellings, accessed via School Road: a discussion took place whether the barn was suitable for conversion. No decision was taken on this development, Councillors could not agree whether the area was better suited for the affordable dwellings of development 1.
Development 4: Conversion of farm buildings to 5 residential dwellings, accessed via School Road and Vicarage Road: it was agreed that, as long these were for permanent use and not holiday accommodations, to accept this development.
Development plans on behalf of G. Paterson esq., Paterson Family, Worstead Farms Ltd and The Hall Farm Trust:
Development 5: Conversion of farm building to commercial light industrial space, access via School Road: it was felt that there is no need for industrial units in the middle of the village with possible extra influx of traffic, certainly not close to residential areas (Manor Farm, Honing Row / School Road) and the school.
