The station is now unmanned. A bill for the flowers etc. had been received but
we are still unsure whether Anglia Railways are going to contribute to this.

The summer., It was proposed by Mrs Gray and seconded by Mr Nash that
Mr Brown is paid £60 at the end of the period in September. All agreed.

An approach had been made to the Council at the open meeting prior to the
start of this meeting about the possibility of the Council funding the printing
of a book called Worstead Woven which had been produced by people in
the parish about the parish. It was hoped to produce an initial run of 1000 to be
sold at the Festival and through other local outlets with the profits going to the
Parish Council. Mrs Wilkins proposed that we pay the bill of £2352.36. Seconded

Sponsorship is still being sought. There are some trophies from the old gardening
competition. These will be looked at and any suitable ones reused.
00/26 TRANSPORT
& TRAFFIC
There has been a noticable drop in HGV’s coming through the village. There had been
a very positive attitude from organisations who attended the meeting. Heinz sent
a sample of the sign which has been displayed in their yard and also copies of all
the complaints they had received and the action taken. Norfolk County Council
had put up the signs as promised on the A149. The clerk was asked to write letters
to let them know of the improvements and to thank them for their co-operation.
NEWS were still not being very helpful but Mrs Cullingham had requested that
when their contract comes up for renewal that it should include the routes they
must use. Until then it is important that we keep up the pressure by recording
details of any of their vehicles passing through the village etc.
Mrs Cullingham has also requested that a 20 mph speed limit is considered for
the village centre. Mrs Wilkins asked if this could be expanded to include the
Hamlets but it was felt that it was unlikely to succeed in that case and it was
better to do things a bit at a time.
The meeting of the new committee had been well attended. They were trying
to organise people to sit in the square and record traffic movements.
Mr Uglow had spoken to someone at County Hall and they are sending out a
sample of a survey which we can personalise. They will then organise the printing
of as many copies as we wanted. He had also had discussions about the possibility
of the large buses going along the main road with feeder buses from the village centre
and hamlets.
Mrs Wilkins pointed out that there is now a feeder service going through Meeting Hill
and that usage of this would be monitored.
A suggestion had been made by a member of the public that a parking restriction
was applied for at the top of Church Plain this would involve the removal of some of
the parking spaces. Mrs Gray proposed that advice be sought on the possibility of
3 parking spaces being removed on the grounds of safety bearing in mind the proposal SC
to have a bus shelter in this vicinity. Mrs Cullingham will take action on this.
00/27 MEETING
HILL
The Management Committee had been invited to make a presentation to the Council
and parishioners but declined the offer. A letter from Mrs Fox, on behalf of the

5th July.
