THE MEETING HELD 27th June 2000
The minutes were approved by the Council and signed by the Chairman.
00/31 MATTERS
ARISING
Worstead Woven
The first books have been received from the printers and £115 received
from sales. The Council expressed its thanks to everyone who has contributed
to the book in any way.
00/32 MEETING HILL
Mr Uglow reported that he had been informed that he was not allowed to
attend the Management Committee meeting unless he was a Trustee and
therefore had not been able to attend. He stressed again that he was very
worried about the way things were proceeding as they still did not have
charitable status. He will write again to the Charities Commission KU
expressing his fears. A far as we are aware two of the original committee
have resigned and it is hoped that their replacements are being made aware ]
of what their responsibilities are. We will continue to try to monitor the
situation on behalf of the Meeting Hill residents.
Money is much tighter than in previous years and it is likely that some
items which have previously come from the precept will have to be
funded from the Surveyors Allotment fund but as this is a higher rate of
interest the money will not be transferred until all the precept has been used.

00/34 PLANNING MATTERS
New plans
Conversion of garage/outbuilding to holiday accommodation
Hollyoak, Station Road, Worstead
It was proposed that the council supported the application but that they asked
for a condition to be attached that the holiday accommodation could not be sold
separately. 1 councillor abstained, all others agreed.
Amended plans
Change of use of single storey outbuilding to single dwelling,
Post Office, Back Street, Worstead
It was proposed that the Council support the amendment. All agreed
E-commerce workshop & server farm
Station Road, Worstead Permit subject to conditions
00/35 CHURCHYARD
GATES
Mr Kettel has again promised delivery. The new date is in the week commencing
14th August. The clerk will write to Mr Kettel confirming this and stating that if
the gates are not received that the Council considers him to be in breach of contract clerk
and accepts no responsibility for any expense incurred by him.
00/36 LAND AT
WOODVIEW
Mrs Gray will be seeing Mrs O’Connor this week to find out what she feels LG
about the suggestion of a memorial to Gareth.
00/37 FLORAL WEEK
The judging has taken place and a list of winners will be published. The cups will not
Be presented this year, as we need to contact the families involved to make sure they
Are happy with the arrangements. Prizes will be presented on Saturday at the
Worstead Festival.
00/38 TRANSPORT & TRAFFIC
It was decided that the bus shelter at the crossroads on the A149 should be taken down.
A meeting of the committee was held on 19th July. They are trying to look wider issues
not just HGVs through the village centre. Thanks to the support of Heinz this continues
to improve. It was suggested that we ask the County Council for better signposting in
Lyngate to warn of the crossroads coming up and also bring it to there attention how clerk
dangerous it is to get out of Honing Row onto the main road.
The Council wish to acknowledge the help received from Mr Wilkins & Mrs Cullingham
With regard to transport matters.
NEWS is still a problem but they are also getting complaints from North Walsham.
Mr Uglow has been asked to look into the possibility of cutting a pathway into the school grounds from the other side of the bend. The Headmaster is in favour of the scheme and it will be looked into.
The County Council has sent a draft survey that has been checked and needs one
Small alteration before being distributed. Norfolk County Council has been very helpful
and positive.

request for funds for equipment – there is still some equipment from the Worstead
group which may be suitable. The clerk will look into this. clerk
Mr Parker proposed that £100 be paid from the Surveyors Allotment fund to the Queen Elizabeth Hall for rent for the Group. This figure can be reviewed later.

Youth Club
The clerk was asked to write to Mr Shaw requesting the final accounts and an inventory. clerk
Copy Letters
The clerk was asked to bring file copies of letters from previous meetings to all future clerk
meetings.
The clerk requested that the November & December meetings be changed to the second Tuesdays to tie in with holidays and the Christmas charity distribution. The new dates are
14th November & 12thDecember.
