99/93 MINUTES OF THE
MEETING HELD 19TH NOVEMBER 1999
It was proposed by W Nash and seconded by R Charman that the
minutes be signed as a correct record of the last meeting. All agreed.
99/94 MATTERS ARISING
Despite having been asked by the Chairman to remove the Car Boot signs
each week they were still at the side of the road. Mr Cole would be
approached again.
The County Council had been approached about the clearing of the footpath
near the recycling centre and also about the replacement of Mrs Grey as
School governor.
The Council is showing a small underspend.
99/96 SCHOOL FOOTWAY
Mr Uglow had been visited by Mr Longhurst (Area Engineer) and
Had put the Councils misgivings about the handling of this project to him.
As a result of this meeting Mr Longhurst has written a letter stating
that the administration fees will be waived. It also states that the Contractor
is responsible for any faults for the first 12 months i.e. until 15/11/2000.
After 15/11/2000 maintenance is the responsibility of Norfolk County Council.
The site will be inspected approximately 1 month prior to handover. KU
There are still some outstanding queries
Mr Uglow will contact N C C about these.
99/97 LAND AT WOODVIEW
A letter will be distributed to all residents before Christmas asking for their views.
99/99 BUS SHELTER
Mr Charman showed plans of the suggested structure and would soon have a
Plan of the square on which to mark the proposed site. These should go to
North Norfolk District Council before our January meeting. RC
The tree planting ceremony had gone very well with about 30 people in
attendance. Father Anthony had obviously spent a lot of time researching
Antons work and this showed in an excellent speech.
It was with deep regret however that Mr Uglow had to report that the tree
Has since been vandalised. This is a sad reflection on our village and if those
Responsible are caught they can be sure that the full weight of the law will be
brought down upon them and that they will be named and shamed. Such vandalism
is intolerable and reflects badly
on the whole community Anyone who may have any
information can contact any councillor, the clerk or the police at North Walsham
who will be informed of this incident.
The tree will be replaced and a metal surround put up in an effort to stop this
happening again.

99/101 CORRESPONDENCE
Dog Bin
A letter had been received from North Norfolk District Council stating
that as the dog bins at the village hall were on private property that they
intended to start charging to empty them. The clerk was asked to write
back objecting to this as the site
for the bins was chosen by NNDC. Clerk
Changes to Council Tax wef 1.4.2000
There are some changes to Council tax especially for the disabled
wef 1.4.2000 the Council was asked to display a poster about this.
A licence for a 5 caravan site at the New Inn had been applied for.
There were no objections to this.
This is the Councils chance to have some input into the structure
Plan for North Norfolk which is the long term plan. Mrs Wilkins
Suggested that this should be given serious consideration.
Mrs Wilkins & Mr Charman are to look at this.
A letter had been received asking whether we still wished to receive
all their correspondence. Clerk to write back requesting the minutes. Clerk
A document had been received dated 26th November asking for comments
by 8th December. The clerk was asked to write to the Chief Executive
stating that
if they want consultation they should allow more time. Clerk
99/102 ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Allotments behind Max Carter

Mrs Wilkins has discovered that these allotments are supposed to be
administered by the Council but no one is collecting rents or knows the
process for allocating the land etc. Mr Uglow will discuss this with KU
Mr Paterson.
Highways Department have cleaned out a dyke alongside the road but as
they have not cleared out the drain the road is still flooding. The clerk will Clerk
contact them.
There have been complaints about this van which is parked on a verge and
is causing a hazard by making this a blind bend. The clerk should write to
the householder advising them of this and should copy the letter to the Clerk
local police.
