PLAYGROUND:
Cllr. O’Hara spoke to 32 people with “early years” children and 23 with “junior children:
Early years: Fencing to remain: for 30, 2 no comment. Ranking for play equipment: trail and imaginary Play: both 3, sea-saw 2, roundabout: 1.
Juniors: Ranking for play equipment: Climber, Roundabout and Sea-saw: all 3, zip wire 2, team swing 1.
Various items were discussed and itemised in the “business plan”
It was agreed that the Clerk contacts the Insurance and Nicola Richardson, Playground Inspector at Norfolk County Services to find out about the need of safety surface. Result: Allianz Cornhill advises to take advice from the companies and / or playground inspector. Nicola Richardson informed the Clerk that safety surface is only necessary when the fall is higher than 1.5m (a swing would need it).
Cllr. Barrett and the Clerk will create a “business plan “ to present to the Worstead Festival Committee with photographs of the selected items and all quotes. (Proposal sent by email 10 October or attached with agenda). Other venues of funding will be investigated as well: e.g. Norfolk Foundations
